Notes: North Carolina calls the custom codes it adopts the 2018 North Carolina Codes. These custom codes are based on the 2015 edition of the I-Codes.

The North Carolina Code Officials Qualification Board must certify all municipal and county electrical inspectors. State-owned buildings need a thorough checkup by the North Carolina Department of Insurance, Engineering, and Building Codes Division.
