Updated: May 24, 2024

Utah Construction Code and Edition Adopted:

Applicability (statewide, local, limited): STATEWIDE

Utah State Statute 58-56-4 requires statewide adoption of a building code, residential code, plumbing code, mechanical code, and fuel gas code by a nationally recognized code authority. The 2009 passage of SB211 moved the adoption authority to the state legislature. The Uniform Building Code Commission is now required to make adoption recommendations to the interim Senate Business and Labor Committee.

The UT Wildland Urban Interface Code (UWUIC) based on the 2006 IWUIC is adopted by the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire & State Lands.
