- 2006 International Private Sewage Disposal Code (IPSDC)
- 2014 National Electric Code (NEC) – Effective 5/1/2017. The updated MFPC is based on the 2015 International Building Code, 2015 International Fire Code, and 2015 International Residential Code. The 2014 National Electrical Code and NFPA 72-2013 are adopted as referenced. The MFPC applies to all state owned buildings, places of assembly, buildings over 75′ in height, correctional facilities, and private fraternity and sorority houses. Jurisdictions may adopt local fire codes that are not less stringent than the MFPC, as determined by the State Fire Marshal.

State license required for commercial jobs over $100,000, city or county jobs over $50,000. Electricians are not currently required to be licensed on a statewide level in Mississippi. Check with your local jurisdiction, such as the City of Jackson, for local licensing requirements. |

Codes are adopted at the local level. Local jurisdictions which adopt codes must currently adopt either the 2018, 2015, or 2012 edition of the International Codes (within the three latest editions of the International Codes), or they may opt out.
