Mango Secures Corte Madera TI Permits in Just 8 Days

CLIENT: Mango for Domo Architecture
LOCATION: Corte Madera, California
PROJECT TYPE: Mall Tenant Improvement

Permit Place recently supported the permitting process for Domo Architecture and their client Mango, supporting an interior tenant improvement (TI) with structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) upgrades plus exterior finish changes.

The project was located in a mall setting in Corte Madera, California, and required coordination with the Town of Corte Madera Community Development Department – Building Division.

Working as part of Mango’s broader program, our team was tasked with driving a fast, clean plan check approval so construction could begin on schedule. From first plan receipt to permit issuance, the project was successfully completed in just eight days.

Challenges

The primary challenge on this project was navigating an inconsistent resubmittal workflow during plan review, which required multiple plan transmissions and careful coordination to confirm receipt and status.

Because resubmittal expectations were not always clearly defined, maintaining momentum depended on close tracking, documentation, and follow-up to ensure each revised package moved forward without unnecessary delay.

Solutions and Strategies

At the outset, Permit Place leveraged its established Due Diligence process to clarify submittal standards, structural and AMEP expectations, and exterior finish review requirements. When the resubmittal process proved inefficient, our team employed proactive measures:

  • Closely managed version control and confirmed receipt after every transmittal
  • Escalated inquiries when responses lagged to maintain momentum
  • Coordinated strategically with the design team to address all comments in a single, comprehensive resubmittal package
  • Minimized additional plan check cycles to keep the mall TI aligned with Mango’s program timelines

Project Wins

  • Secured full plan check approval and issued the permit exactly when Mango and Domo Architecture needed it
  • Prevented costly delays ahead of the scheduled construction start date
  • Kept Mango’s broader rollout program on track
  • Delivered results in just eight days despite a complex review workflow
