| CLIENT: | The North Face for Lennox NAS |
| LOCATION: | Camarillo, California |
| PROJECT TYPE: | Shopping Center Tenant Improvement |
Permit Place was engaged to provide permit expediting services for The North Face for Lennox NAS in Camarillo, California.
The project involved a tenant improvement (TI) within a shopping center, focused on HVAC replacement for the store. Scope included installing one new rooftop package unit tied into existing electrical, duct, and plumbing systems, requiring coordination with the City of Camarillo Community Development Department for plan check approval.
Working closely with Lennox NAS and The North Face, our team managed the full permitting and submittal path from initial Due Diligence process through final permit issuance. From the time plans were received to permit approval, the entire process was completed in just 8 days, keeping the construction schedule on track and minimizing operational disruption.
Challenges
This project proceeded smoothly with no significant obstacles, largely due to a strong Due Diligence process and clear guidance from the City. While both Planning and Public Works approvals were required prior to building submittal, the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) outlined these steps upfront, allowing our team to plan accordingly and avoid delays.
Solutions and Strategies
Permit Place implemented proactive measures from day one, leveraging a detailed Due Diligence report to map out the multi-department approval sequence. Our team coordinated the email-based Planning and Public Works review prior to formal building submittal, ensuring all prerequisites were satisfied. Strategic application planning and ongoing communication with the AHJ helped streamline the plan check approval process and positioned the package for first-round success.
Project Wins
With a clear roadmap and efficient execution, the Planning and Public Works approvals were secured smoothly via email, eliminating unnecessary trips or resubmittals. As a result, the Building Department granted plan check approval on the first review cycle. Although this was not part of a larger national program, the speed and organization demonstrated on this standalone HVAC TI clearly reflect Permit Place’s ability to manage multi-location rollouts with similar efficiency and precision.
