Permit Place was tasked with obtaining five crucial permits for Yum, a new 2257 square foot restaurant in Westlake, Florida. The required permits included: Building, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, and Fire.
This ambitious project posed several challenges, which were tactfully handled by our skilled team.
The principal challenge was the building department’s slow processing time of four weeks for the initial permit submittal review. Maintaining continuous involvement and attention from the building department required our team to escalate the issue with the jurisdiction and request intervention from the city manager.Â
Despite these obstacles, Permit Place demonstrated remarkable efficiency and expertise. We adhered to the estimated 8-week timeframe for approval, successfully navigating the slow building department process.
A notable victory was the absence of any corrections issued by the Building Department in the first round – a testimony to the thoroughness and accuracy of the prepared permit applications.
The project is now in RTI (Ready-to-Issue) status, five months ahead of the projected construction start date. This victory underscores Permit Place’s capacity to overcome bureaucratic hurdles, streamline the approval process, and expedite the construction timeline.
Let’s schedule 30 minutes to discuss your project and how Permit Place can help make the permit approval process easier.
