Permit Place recently had the privilege to work on a complex multi-site rollout project for J. Crew. This challenging project, spanning 5,000 square feet in a Plymouth, MA, shopping center involved securing approvals for building, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire permits.
To accomplish this, our team completed a due diligence project, pre-submittal quality control review, form preparation, and permit submission and management.
The major challenge encountered was the City of Plymouth requires general contractor information on fire alarm and sprinkler permit submittals, but the GC had not been selected yet. The timing of vendor selection critically impacted submission deadlines, squeezing our available window for the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) review process and pushing our timelines close to the estimated start date of construction.
The Plymouth Building Department gave us a review due date of January 29. This led J. Crew to label this project as red, indicating it was in jeopardy of delay. But, our team’s preparation and hard work through the holidays helped secure approvals in just 4 days compared to the 30 days we were told.
This accomplishment significantly surpassed the client’s expectation and the project was removed from “in the red” and placed back on schedule.
This project underscored Permit Place’s capability to handle demanding multi-site rollouts under tight deadlines. By securing necessary permits weeks ahead of the planned construction start, we ensured that J. Crew’s project moved forward without delay, thereby reinforcing our reputation for excellence in permit expediting.
Let’s schedule 30 minutes to discuss your project and how Permit Place can help make the permit approval process easier.
