Summary of State Building Code Program: Updated 11/15/18

  • Local jurisdicitons will be updating their codes on 1/1/2019 to the 2018 ICodes.
  • Nevada has a set of statewide building codes (except for residential, electrical, mechanical and plumbing).
  • The office of State Fire Marshal handles code enforcement for schools, health care facilities, state buildings (fire protection only) and commercial buildings in rural areas. They are still on the 2012 IBC and
  • The State Public Works Division is handling the design review and construction of the state-owned buildings and this office has adopted 2012 IBC, 2012 UPC; 2012 UMC and the 2011 NEC.
