Challenge

Development in the City of San Diego is booming, often resulting in elongated permit review times. This can pose a significant challenge to businesses with tight construction deadlines. 

The Burger Lounge permitting project also had an inherent hurdle. Due to project timing, the permit applications were submitted during the holiday season, when plan check staff availability is limited.  

Because of these factors, we forecasted a turnaround time of 4.5 months for permit approvals.

Project Win

Thanks largely to our team’s familiarity with San Diego restaurant permitting and the building department’s permit requirements, we managed to secure all necessary permits in just 3.5 months – a whole month ahead of our initial estimate.

This expedited approval was a monumental win, ensuring that Burger Lounge’s construction schedule remained on track.
