Do not forget you will need to put a complete code summary on your cover sheet when submitting your building permit application package.
A client came to us last week for help because the reviewer would not begin the review process until the code summary was in the submittal documents.
A complete set of documents should have a code summary on the cover sheet of the drawings showing the current codes used to design the project. Most jurisdictions will require some form of a code summary. It can be most easily found if it is on the cover sheet.
The summary should look like this;
Code Summary:
- 1997 Uniform Building Code
- 1997 Uniform Mechanical Code
- 1999 National Electrical Code
- 1997 Uniform Plumbing Code
- Occupancy Group B
- Type VN Construction
- One Story
- Allowable Stories = 2
- Area Square footage of building=7000
- Allowable Area = 8000 square feet
